Coalition plans.

Nightfall clauses on regulation is a Lib Dem policy and both parties backed improvement of small company rates. Most important here is the Brit Bill of Rights. Curtailing unrestrained card IRs was promised by both parties as was limiting superstore power. Review of H&S with regard to policing was a Conservative commitment.
The Lib Dems made a promise to maintain the BBC's self-reliance in their manifesto while the NAO proposal is a Conservative one.
The Conservatives need to keep Trident, but the proviso on good value is a concession to their Lib Dem partners who need to scrap it. The offers on nuclear power are a clear compromise and it's tough to tell how this could play out. The suggestion for a free vote on the Hunting Act is the adoption of the Conservative position, but barely watered down. Plans to cut back the couple penalty in the tax allowance system are a watering down of the first Conservative guarantee to finish it. A cap on non-EU immigration was a Conservative policy attacked by the Lib Dems in the election. Much here is Conservative policy or like Lib Dem thinking. Anonymity for suspects is a new promise though both parties have suggested this during the past. The plan to study control orders is a dilution of a Lib Dem promise to lose them, as is the step back from their suggestion to permit intercept proof to be employed in court. Plans to bring Northerly Eire into the trend of UK politics was a particular Conservative policy promise. The parties ' perspectives on overall NHS aims and ethos broadly concur, though the Lib Dems had opposed the promise to extend real term spending on cost grounds. Both parties were committed to looking for non-public investment in Royal Mail. The setback of a year in considering reforms to long term care is a retreat from the firm suggestions on a home protection
scheme set out by the Conservatives. The review of non-doms taxation is an accommodation of both parties ' positions ; the Conservatives had suggested a 25,000 fixed rate yearly levy on all non-doms [as against the present thirty thousand tax on those here for 7 years out of ten] while the Lib Dems said everybody who had been non-dom for 7 years or even more should become subject to tax on all offshore revenue in a similar way as dwelling UK voters. On costs, the Conservatives swore to await a commentary on high education funding.
