Online rental fraudsters : the real thing.

After they received a virtually matching reaction to another Craigslist posting on a different house, they knew they'd been had. The conmen log on and find bonafide properties for sale or to rent and then take the data and footage from the listing and post fake for-rent adverts with them. Then, they either drive you to a credit checking company that only would like you to join up to monthly monitoring or a fraudulent site where they thieve your private info.

the base line is, regardless of what, do not give up private info over the Net till you visit the home or flat in-person and talk with the owner or managing corporation. A credit test might still be required, though not till after a tour of the property.
