the North American Legion Auxiliary Kids are headed to the state convention in Glendale this week to sharpen their leadership and service abilities. Natalie Lakosil / Douglas Dispatch - American Legion Auxiliary Kids held a bake sale and automobile wash to help raise funds for a state meeting trip in Glendale this month. The group lately held an automobile wash and bake sale outside of the American Legion to generate funds for the meeting, which runs June 17-20. The automobile wash and bake sale raised about 140.

The members had a baking sleepover the night before to make all of the baked products. The Kids are a part of a youth auxiliary programme that assures the affiliations expansion, continuity and teaches the essentials of leadership and service to the future members of the Unit, District, Dep. and National levels. Last years players returned to the community energised, inspired and keen to make a change in this world. The local Juniors are active and volunteer for projects that will be advantageous to the community. During the last year they have raised cash and supplied care packages to local active duty army ladies and men overseas for Yuletide . They served and cleaned up at the Progressive Dinner for the House of Hope, the Early Bird Dinner, Mothers' Day Breakfast, the Post Open House and all Auxiliary functions.
