Users of Apple Inc.'s preferred iPhone will now be ready to save cash by making Internet-based telephone calls over ATT's cellular network. Apple is now permitting new versions of one or two Voice 
over Web Custom to start working on the iPhone. Formerly , iPhone users required a wireless Internet connection to make these VoIP calls - but the new change will permit calls from anywhere that receives a powerful enough 3G cellular signal. By employing VoIP applications to sidestep the telephone's standard calling software, iPhone owners could avoid using up their monthly grant of mins from ATT, possibly letting them select less expensive plans. A company called iCall Inc related its app was the 1st such service to be accepted by Apple. Calls made over the Net are often less trustworthy, depending on the power of the link and the quality of the calling service. ATT claimed in October it had taken steps important to allow iPhone users to make VoIP calls over the cellular network, but Apple didn't seem to approve those apps till fairly recently.
