Pitaro : we have 4 buckets of content experience. The 1st is original content, if it is video or text, and it is a giant concern of ours. Today, I suspect its reasonable to say about ten percent of what we do is original, and the fact that number has grown is really because we feel its necessary to differentiate Yahoo. We have dedicated blogs inside each of our Yahoo. Its just not sufficient for us to be silent any more. Years back, you believed assembly was enough?

When they're going to Facebook, they should get their Yahoo. So a gigantic emphasis of ours during the last a couple of months has been to integrate the Facebook like and share buttons across our media properties, and thats only going to extend. Original content is, in my mind, the differentiator. So for me, its crucial as it helps us present to the user a singular character and say to the advertising community heres why you ought to be spending on Yahoo.

And in 5 years, I am expecting it to be a lot bigger than twenty percent. Im not prepared to point out precisely where I would like it to be, but presuming we continue to monetize this content effectively and produce an interesting return, were going to hire folks to make original content. This is going to sound like brown-nosing, but Forbes is a wonderful example as you produce exceptionally high-quality content and you also produce content thats in a class that traditionally we havent attempted. This is the ideal example of where it is smart for us to be partnering with a company or a site and linking off to them. Looking forward 5 years, where do you want to be as a site that you arent today? I also wish to be breaking reports and be the place to begin providing access to each piece of info a user could want in a customized fashion. And the largest challenge as you make your way there? The constant fragmentation of the web experience. Sites at a local level or on a social level. The beginning point isn't just about Yahoo. Making or licensing the content ; if were actually going to be the place to begin, we also have to be providing access, which includes user-generated content and linking off. Traditionally plenty of folks have been worried about driving folks to third party sites, but we think if you build the right content and product experience, at last folk will come back.
