EBay 2Q profit rises twenty-six pct on PayPal, market.

That did not appear to weigh on its shares, though , which rose in after-hours trading. For the April-June quarter, eBay Inc earned $412 million, or 31 cents per share. That compares with $327 million, or twenty-five cents per share, in the same quarter a year
back.
It was $2.1 bill in the same period last year. The unit's revenue rose twenty-two % to $817 million, while total payment volume jumped 28 p.c to $21.4 bill.
In a telephone interview, Donahoe asserted that PayPal is growing on "all fronts and in all geographies.". Cash from marketplaces rose eleven p.c to $1.4 bln.
the rise was assisted by expansion in eBay's EU business, though the company said expansion in America was slower than predicted. EBay had 91.8 million active users at the end of the quarter, compared to 88.4 million in the same quarter last year. Donahoe recounted Wed. that he is expecting attempts to turn round the site will make "lots more progress" in the subsequent 6 to eighteen months. Researchers have been trying to find changed takings of 39 cents per share on $2.2 billion in cash. EBay had formerly anticipated changed revenues of $1.63 to $1.68 per share on $8.8 bn. to $9.1 bn. in income. EBay shares rose 68 cents , or 3.4 p.c, to $20.85 in after-hours trading. Before the release of results, it finished regular trading down 62 cents , or three %, at $20.17. News on Twitter, become a fan on Facebook Buzz up. Try selling at auction or estate sales a see what sort of costs you can get. Unless you have big volumes or profits in what you sell, Ebay is not an inexpensive option of selling. Then they need to limit what I charge per shipping down to a point where the sellers really lose cash on the shipping. Ebay is changing into a joke and I believe at last another company will take over the net auction buisness. Their only-buyers-matter mindset is putting sellers into bankruptcy. They're essentially puzzled as to who their buyer is : they view the purchaser as their shopper. The purchaser isn't their consumer - the vendor is their client. Like the governing body, they believe that by raising charges they're going to increase income, which is totally backwards. They fall all over themselves, helping the consumers deceive the vendor and in a few cases even rewarding them for doing so.
